Main books - why can't we buy them separately?

Postby laidback on Wed Nov 04, 2009 7:03 pm

Well we all know why Kleeneze make us buy them in kits, but in the vain hope that someone of importance reads this, isn't it time for a change? I would like to buy the new main books without being forced into buying yet more Christmas catalogues which I am already top heavy on and which all my customers have seen at least 3 times. Yes I know I could probably throw the Christmas catalogues away and write them off as a tax loss and yes probably the increase in sales which may occur as a result of my customers actually being able to view a new main catalogue may more than offset the money I am forced to spend on Christmas catalogues that I don't need, but that's not really the point is it? If I buy Cornflakes from Sainsburys they don't make me buy milk to go with it!

Bit confused....

Do you need main books? Or are you just after replacing the issue 1's with issue2's?

If so, WHY?

Little change, main cover is nice to change, but not worth the dosh. IF YOU NEED to top up, get a kit. If you don't DON'T.

BTW, H&B has an issue 2 too.

Think between them there are 2 new products, and about 4-6 gone NLA.

No I don't need them - if I did I'd buy them. Point is it's nice to show the customer they think is different, even it's basically just the same stuff repackaged, and it would be nice to buy them without being forced into buying stuff I don't need. A lot of my customers don't want to keep seeing exactly the same book and just ask me to call again when a new one comes out. Alright they then order the same stuff they could have got out the old book anyway but it's just psychological. Like when a new Argos catalogue comes out. My wife always picks it up straightaway, scans it and buys something which we've managed without for years but can apparently no longer do without, and was probably in the previous catalogue anyway.Once the initial excitement has gone the catalogue sits on the shelf unlooked at for the next three months.Same with Kleeneze - show customers the same main cover more than twice and apathy can set in. I can understand it. I'd want to see something that at least looked different every month if I had a distributor.

Right, see your point.

We do get this to some degree, but it sounds like you have a more severe c ase of it!

I would imagine you already do this, but do you change the order of the books now and again, so they look different?
Some even suggest (we haven't) opening the books to different pages, so they can can see different products...... not just always see the covers.

Just wondering if that could help you, without needing the new books.....

Yes it would be nice to order main books only, the reason I was told was some would only use mains, or only replace mains..... Maybe worth emailing the service centre again......

I have complained about this in the distant past and was hoping that when Findel took us over we would be able to buy them separately but we haven't been able to still. I was told the same as usinbusiness says that people would just use the mains only, although why that is a problem I don't know as most orders are from the mains anyway and a sale is a sale.

I suspect it's the case that either they are afraid some dodgy agents would sign up new team members with just the main books only or despite what they say, (the books are sold to us at cost price), they make a decent profit selling retail kits to us.

This may be the reason why they have launched the golden ticket competition this week because the vast majority of existing agents will NOT be replacing their books now before the new ones come out in just over a months time so they must have a load of retail kits they need to get rid of, either that or I am a bit paranoid. :D

PS As usinbusiness says if you don't do already every time I start a new cycle I always alter the order of the books so it looks like there is something new even if there isn't.

Just out of curiosity I wonder how many retail kits are normally ordered in a 2 week period. :?:

I think you can buy them seperately. I haven't had to for a long time, but they are still on the search facility (code 05568).

Good luck
